Repairing a Xbox 360 on You’re Own to Save Money

Most people are very afraid to open a piece of electronics up and do their own maintenance on it. This may be because they are fragile devices, or maybe that person doesn’t know anything about them. The good thing about Xbox 360 console repairs is that if you can follow simple instructions it should be a rather easy task to complete.

Repairing an Xbox 360 is not that hard, but is not something you want to put in the hands of a child. You will not need a degree at MIT in order to accomplish this task as long as you know how to follow directions, are able to use some basic tools, and have basic technical skills.

Now there are a lot of people out there that will read this article and just dive into their Xbox 360 without pause. However, there are some things that you need to look for before fixing the console yourself. The main thing that you are going to want to look at is whether or not your Xbox 360 is still under warranty. If it is you will want to just go ahead and send it back to Microsoft and let an expert do the work for you. If the console is still under warranty and you open the casing they will know and void the warranty. The main problem that most people have is the red ring of death error, which makes your system not work in anyway.

Xbox 360’s have come along way since their inception to the problems that they are having. Right now you would be relieved to hear that only 6% of Xbox 360’s that get the red ring of death error cannot be fixed. This means that if you are fixing if yourself and you follow the directions that are provided to you on how to fix it, you have very little chance of not completing you’re task.

Now also understand that the red ring of death error isn’t the only one that you have to deal with, in an Xbox360 console. There are other problems that can happen and there are guides and manuals out there that can help you overcome these obstacles. Some of the problems that are out there today are freeze ups, overheating, and graphic errors to just name a few. All of these are easily fixable and shouldn’t pose any type of problem to you if you follow instructions.

Letting Microsoft repair it under warranty is the best thing to do, because it will not cost you anything and they will guarantee their work. However, not under warranty will mean a hefty $150 charge to fix it, if you send it to them. So with that said if you can do it yourself you will save quite bit of money, and the entire headache that comes with it.
