In developing e-learning content for a learning management system, course developers often find out the hard way that in many respects, less is usually more. This truism applies specifically to the writing style of the e-learning content. “Less is more” means creating strong and interactive content which uses concise, simple, and personalized language.
Naturally, there are many decisions involved in writing and preparing e-learning content. These choices include everything from navigation to media features, to what kind of writing tone best suits the content–the latter being the most important consideration you’ll take. In the same way that a boring or amazing professor has the power to make or break a class, a strong or weak writing style can either enhance or damage your e-learning course.
So, how do you infuse your course with a powerful writing style and effective tone?
Courses that merit a student’s time and dedication are usually grounded in an author’s personal experience and subject matter expertise. And taking into account the infinite amount of course topics that are taught in higher education and training programs–not to mention the different learning and pedagogical styles–it makes sense that the appropriate writing style greatly depends on the context.

The computer that I typically use at my house is almost always expressly used by myself for business purposes. My children have their own computer that they use in another room in the home, but this one evening they did not want to go into the other room so I decided to allow them to use my computer for a change. After all, how much harm could they possibly do in a single hour that they would be working on my computer?
They were working on the computer for approximately an hour whenever they started complaining about pop-up windows that were taking place on the computer. By the time I got over to take a look, there were so many pop-up windows from the spyware that have been downloaded that I can barely see the screen underneath the pop ups. This was frustrating to say the least, especially considering the fact that I am always cautious about downloading anything in order to keep this computer as clean as possible.
It seems that one of them was downloading some screensavers and then transferring them over to the laptop through the network. One of the screensavers came with an attachment that downloaded…

If you have noticed a degrading in the performance of your computer, be it on start up or just generally running programs or browsing the Internet, then one reason may be that the registry is corrupted in some way. This only applies to computers that use windows operating systems, such as Windows XP or Vista. By fixing the corruption you could get the performance back.
The slowing in performance of your computer is inevitable as it gets used more often. The more it is used, the more likely that it will get more data loaded onto it. This means it will take longer to find or run something. As more data is loaded on, it may also cause redundant links in the registry which can also slow down the computer.
The registry is a database file that is used by Windows XP machines as a yellow pages for all the stuff that is stored on your computer. Whenever you issue a command by clicking on an icon or pressing some keys, the chances are that windows XP will go to the registry for some lookup information to complete this task. If the registry is jam packed with…

A court reporter is one of the jobs that is most likely to continue, even in an economic downturn. Every court case and legal hearing needs to have a record made of what was said and done during the meeting and it’s the job of the reporter to keep track of everything. Many people enjoy receiving the newspaper. They like to know about what’s going on in the world and their community, read the sports or comics section, and perhaps even to do the crossword puzzle. Some of them enjoy it so much that they go on to try to sell the newspaper to others.
A lot of this is because the task of dialing through a list of numbers is not only time-consuming, but monotonous and tiring as well. The solution to this is for the telephone company to use a dialer.
This electronic device dials the numbers for the salespeople, reducing the amount of time they spend pushing buttons and holding a phone to their ear. As a result, they are less likely to get bored with their jobs and quit.
There are several varieties of dialers available. One type is a computer program that dials a connection to the Internet. This type, however, is not very useful for advertising and selling newspapers. Another kind is the auto dialer. This dials numbers for the salesperson, but it does not have any way of knowing when the call is answered by a live person.
This results in a lot…
