Video Games From The Past

Once upon a time, things were simple. Enemies were easily identified. Weapons were simple. Yes, the games of our youth only required primary colors and a joystick, but technology has forged ahead.

Game producers, emulators and remakes have been making games which resemble old games. There all sorts of remakes on the internet for the various consoles and gaming systems. These emulators trying to maintain the quality of the old gaming software.

Many old favorites, including the Commodore 64, NES, Master System, Amiga, and Arcade machines, have already been Emulated. A simple internet search will lead to sites where these programs can be easily downloaded, often for free.

Believe it or not, emulation isn’t that new and has been around for quite some time, now. I believe that Bleem! was the first emulator that people really noticed. It was an emulator of the Playstation, so it can be used on your personal computer.

A similar emulator called Bleemcast wasn’t far behind. Of course, Sony fought to have this emulator shut down due to the threat to its copyright. Yet emulators still have a solid fan base keeping the movement alive.

It’s rather easy to find and download these kind of emulators. All you have to do is search for a system and then type emulator on a search engine, and you should be able to find one without any problems. Most of them are quite accessible and user friendly.

Due to the competition between Sony and emulators, there are some legal issues which may hinder you from running the emulators well on newer systems. You can install a BIOS system with the emulator to prevent you from encountering problems. Find a BIOS image that matches the BIOS you already have.

If the new systems are too hard for you to use or you find it to complex or complicated to have fun, you can get the emulation and remake scene. Enjoy the simulation by going back to old systems when things where easy.
